At almost 65 I can say candidly I’m not sure what I’m doing but I need to keep doing it to preserve my sanity. For many years I have on and off dabbled with French. I have made some progress with Babbel but it is too easy to sit in my easy chair and go through the motions. Je me sens coupable, vraiment. By the way I’m from Canada.
I wish you success, Terence!!
I’m a lot younger but face the same difficulties while learning French
I’m 66, and have been chipping away at languages for many years, including French. For me, it’s part of my daily routine, which becomes part of my motivation and reason I plough on when I sometimes think “WHAT?!” (almost always in relation to grammar.). Bon chance.
